FD60 Flamebreak Pine Fire Doors
Our veneered Flamebreak doors are manufactured with either Ply or MDF faces. They are constructed using a tri-laminate hardwood core and 10mm thick Pine lippings. They are then faced with Crown or Quarter Cut Pine Veneer, sanded to give a smooth finish and pre-finished with three coats of 30% AC Lacquer ready for site installation.
Plywood
Plywood is one of the most versatile and adaptable materials; it is extremely cost effective. It is a wooden board made from sticking multiple ‘plies’ together with glue to form a thicker board. The boards are alternated to reduce the risk of wood splitting, provide more stability, consistent strength across the board and reduces the shrinking of the wood.
Standard MDF
Standard MD is a multi-purpose MDF, made using superior wood and resins, with a high internal bond strength. It is very versatile and used extensively throughout the construction and joinery industries.
Pine
Available in Crown and Quarter cut.
Characteristics: Soft pale yellow to light pink to light reddish brown, with resin ducts that form narrow brown lines parallel to the grain. Uniform medium texture with very subtle growth rings.
Finishes
Clear Lacquer
If you choose your product to have a clear lacquer finish, it will come with a hard coating with a 30% sheen. This surface is very durable, perfect for lots of use. The process consists of:
- The product is sanded ready for polishing.
- It is wiped down and 2 coats of lacquer is applied.
- Then, it is lightly sanded, which breaks down the grain for a smooth finish.
- A further coat of lacquer is applied to seal and create the hard top.
- Quality checked by our QA manager.
