Redwood Skirting Boards
Redwood varies hugely depending on its origin. The colours can include different shades from a cream-white to yellow/light brown. Knots are extremely present in this softwood along with annual rings, more if it’s an older tree. Low resistance and stiffness is prevalent but works well with machines and hand tools. It can be finished with oil, lacquer, staining, or varnish. Perfect for internal doors, skirtings, architraves, mouldings and specialist joinery. For internal and external use.
DIMENSIONS MANUAL
Ordering skirtings boards can be quite baffling when you have to try to envisage what it will look like from a web page! We have put together this ‘manual’ to help you get to grips with the measurements you require and how to order accurately.
Explanation
All skirtings have 3 dimensions that you will need to specify: height, depth and length. You will also need to choose a profile, which is the part of the board that is shaped for decorative purposes.
Dimensions
Height: this is how high you want the skirting to come up your wall
Depth: this is how thick the board is coming away from your wall
Length: this is how long or far it will be running along your wall
Profile: a style that is chosen for your desired appearance
Please note that we can send samples out for you to look at before placing an order. If you need to match skirtings to previous ones, please give us a call!
REBATES MANUAL
Rebating is a great way to keep your home looking neat and tidy without compromising objects that are already there. This also enables electrical wires and pipes to run along the back, keeping them hidden and out of the way. A section of the board is removed to accommodate for these things.
Cable Rebating
Designed to accommodate existing wires that run around the circumference of the room. The depth is determined by the size of your board. We offer 3 different rebate sizes:
28mm – 20mm x 12mm
25mm – 20mm x 19mm
30mm – 20mm x 24mm
Pipe Rebating
Designed to accommodate existing pipes that run around the circumference of the room. The depth is determined by the size of your board. We offer 3 different rebate sizes:
18mm – 60mm x 12mm
25mm – 60mm x 19mm
30mm – 60mm x 24mm

- A coat of gloss is then applied and is left to dry.

- It is wiped down and 2 coats of lacquer is applied.
- Then, it is lightly sanded, which breaks down the grain for a smooth finish.
